Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden), the region’s largest multi-commodity metals and mining company, and Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the world’s largest aluminum smelters, today announced that both parties have agreed to discontinue discussions on a potential combination of Maaden’s aluminum business units with Alba.

Maaden will continue to pursue its strategic growth agenda for its aluminum business, ensuring sustainable and impactful development regionally and globally.
